ABUCAY, Bataan — A man and a woman were found dead, each with a bullet hole on the head, Wednesday morning in a vacant subdivision here adjacent to the Roman Superhighway.
Senior Inspector Jennifer Cruz, Abucay police chief, identified the woman as Rina dela Rosa, 43, of Barangay Calaylayan in Abucay based on the identification card recovered by operatives of the Scene of the Crime Operation.
The male companion was later identified as Domingo Baluyot, 44, also of Calaylayan, a former overseas Filipino worker.
They turned out to be live-in-partners, “May tama ng bala sa ulo ang babae at lalaki. Nakakuha ng slugs ang SOCO,” the police chief said.
Later report showed that SOCO recovered a Norinco pistol caliber .45 with two magazines inside the shoulder bag and two empty shells on the road near the bodies.
Cruz said the victims might have been abducted somewhere and hogtied. She said that residents nearby did not hear gunshots but heard the barking of dogs at dawn at 1:00 a.m.
Cruz and Senior Supt. Marcelo Dayag, Bataan police director, rushed to the crime scene in barangay Mabatang in Abucay.
Subdivision caretaker Lolito de Jesus said he was inspecting the fruit-bearing mango trees at about 8 in the morning when he saw two persons lying on the pavement. He said he thought the two were just resting because of the two bags near them.
“Nang lumapit ako ng kaunti, nakita ko may dugo kaya humingi na ako ng saklolo,” de Jesus said.
The chief of police said they were still waiting for the completion of the processing by SOCO of the bodies and the contents of the two bags found beside them. “Investigation is ongoing,” Cruz said.
