CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Incumbent councilor Brenz Gonzales filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) yesterday October 1, for the capital city’s vice-mayoralty post, pledging to continue better legislation for Fernandinos and reach more sectors of the community.

In the company of his father, House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. who is on his third and last term as Pampanga 3rd District representative, the young Gonzalez said he is, as of date, running solo with Lakas-CMD as party of affiliation.

Brenz said that he will also continue the programs and services he has initiated as councilor and bring his own style of legislative work in the city councilor as, hopefully, vice mayor.

A “proud native of Barangay Dolores” here, the 25-year-old Brenz began his early education at the Mary the Queen Academy of Pampanga in nearby Bacolor town.

When the elder Gonzalez was elected congressman in 2007, Brenz transferred to Ateneo de Manila for high school. Later, he pursued his degree in Civil Engineering at De La Salle University.

After graduating in 2018, Brenz passed the board exams with an impressive average score of 84. However, the celebration of his achievement was brief. Brenz quickly began his career as a site engineer at Megaworld Corp. in Taguig City, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry. With this experience under his belt, Brenz resigned from his job and took on a more significant role as president and chief executive officer of AD Gonzales Jr. Construction Corp., the “AAA” category construction firm established by his father.
