HERMOSA, Bataan – One still unidentified man shot dead at close range a municipal councilor while walking on his way home after attending the regular session of the Sangguniang Bayan here at 1:40 p.m., Monday.
Senior Insp. Ronnie Fabia, Hermosa deputy police chief, said Councilor Ramon “Monching” Jaring, 58, suffered a gunshot wound in his neck and died on the spot about 15 meters away from his house in barangay Burgos Soliman, Hermosa.
Scene of the Crime Operatives gathered an empty shell and a slug from caliber .45 pistol near the gate of victim’s neighbor. The red gate bore a bullet hole.
Reports showed the gunman approached victim from behind and fired the lone shot.
“Nagsasagawa ang Hermosa police at Bataan police provincial office ng malalimang imbestigasyon at follow-up to get possible lead and the arrest of suspect or suspects,” Fabia said.
Senior Supt. Ric Zapata, Jr., Bataan police director, immediately created “Task Force Jaring”, said Chief Insp. Ferdinand Aguilar, Hermosa police chief.
