TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Council (PTCAC) is set to propose the institutionalization of the Tarlac Tourism Code, aimed at strengthening and organizing the province’s tourism sector.
During a PTCAC meeting, tourism officers from municipal governments, as well as representatives from government and private organizations, gathered to provide input on the proposed code.
Tarlac Board Member Pearl Pacada highlighted that institutionalizing the tourism code will create clearer policies and a more organized tourism sector.

“Dahil nakita na natin ang kahalagahan ng tourism as economic driver, we have to institutionalize it already. If we have the tourism code, it will be organized and in one direction. (Since we have seen the importance of tourism as an economic driver, we need to institutionalize it. With a tourism code, it will be organized and moving in one direction),” she said.
PTCAC members contributed ideas on essential aspects of the code, including the appointment of permanent tourism officers in all local government units, identification of tourism sites, incorporation of sustainable development goals in the code, and adding a section for persons with disabilities.
Another meeting with the Tourism Office is scheduled to finalize the tourism code ahead of its presentation to the board members and the preparation of the committee report.
Furthermore, as part of the ongoing effort to promote Tarlac tourism, the council also collaborated on the planning of a branding initiative to strengthen the province’s tourism identity. (CLJD/AJRR, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
