CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The city council recently approved two resolutions allowing a more festive celebration of the “Pyestang Fernandino” set on May 30.

Vice Mayor Edwin Santiago and the city council approved Resolution 34 (series of 2011), otherwise known as “a resolution enjoining all business establishments operating in the city to install streamers in the front of their buildings in support of the Pyestang Fernandino on May 30, 2011.”

On the same session on May 4, the council also approved Resolution 33 (series of 2011), also known as “a resolution inviting business establishments operating in the city to grant discounts during the celebration of the Pyestang Fernandino on May 30, 2011.”

Both unanimously approved resolutions were sponsored by Councilor Alex Patio.

“The city government recognizes the importance of the involvement of the business establishments in ensuring the success of its relevant programs and projects in all fields of endeavors which include among others cultural preservation and enhancement,” said the resolution of Patio.

In both resolutions, the city government urged residents and traders to participate actively in the celebration by joining various activities.
