Chief Insp. Rommel Labalan, CIDG provincial chief, said some of his men were in patrol in Barangay Alas-Asin here when they heard gunshots at about 3 p.m.
“Nasa bandang ibaba ng Alas-Asin ang mga tauhan ko kaya agad silang tumaas nang makarinig ng putok. Isang lalaki ang habang tumatakbo ay nakatututok ang baril at mabuti na lamang at agad napaputukan ito,” the CIDG chief said.
Recovered from the still unidentified man was a handgun believed to be a .38 revolver. Labalan said Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found no identification card on the victim.
“Ayon sa mga witnesses, may kasamahang tatlo o limang iba pa ang biktima na agad tumakas sa masukal na bahagi bago pa dumating ang tropa ko,” he said.
Mervin Raymundo, manager of the warehouse for softdrinks and beer in Alas-Asin, said the hold-upper got P2,000 from them.
“Hinold-up kami. Paglabas ng hold-upper, tamang-tama parating ang CIDG. Sinasabi na may mga kasamahan ang holdupper sa labas na mabilis na nakatakas,” said Mervin who is son of Mayor Antonio Raymundo of Orion, Bataan.
