PO2 Rolando Bondoc, 50, an operative of the criminal investigation and detection team (CIDT) in Nueva Ecija and resident of Barangay Santiago this municipality was pronounced dead on-arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds in his body at Nueva Ecija Doctor’s Hospital in Cabanatuan. His wife, Celerima, 44, a public school teacher, was
being treated for gunshot wounds on her arm.
Investigation disclosed that the victims were about to board their own SUV (TID- 369) at about 8:30 p.m. Friday for a “Pamamahayag” of Iglesia Ni Cristo where they belong when the suspects on board a Crosswind shot the policeman several times.
Celerima told probers that the suspects, armed with .45 pistols, immediately fled after the incident.
She could not say of any possible motive behind the attack on her husband yet. Police are still looking into several angles, including job and personal, according to Nueva Ecija police director, Senior Supt. Crizaldo Nieves.
