The fatality was identified as PO1 Norwel Venancio, 29, resident of Sta. Cruz, Manila while those wounded were PO1 Rachelle Carugda, 24, of Baras, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo and PO1 Tiffany dela Cruz, all detailed as on-the-job trainees at Jaen Police Station, Jaen, Nueva Ecija.
Investigation disclosed the victims were on board a single motorcycle without displayed license plate heading north when bumped by the southbound Isuzu Forward truck (CSU-855) driven by Librado Ariola, 23, resident of Dipaculao, Aurora.
The victims were rushed to the Gonzales General Hospital here but Venancio was declared dead on arrival. The two other policemen remain in critical condition as of press time, according to the police.
Ariola was placed under custodial investigation, facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and double serious physical injuries.
