ANGELES CITY — It has been exactly 100 days since Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. took oath as representative of the First District of Pampanga – 100 days that can be summed up in a single phrase: “Ramdam na ramdam ang serbisyong may puso.”

While politicians stay within the comfort of their office, Cong Pogi leads on the ground. He is out on the streets, braving heavy rain and harsh sunlight, serving the public to the best of his ability.

The most important job of a congressman is to legislate, a task that Cong Pogi has performed with aplomb.

To date, Cong Pogi has filed a total of 20 House Bills and 16 House Resolutions, focusing on the various issues highlighted in his legislative agenda – environmental protection, social welfare, health, nutrition, education, and labor.

Since the 20th Congress officially opened on June 28, 2025, Cong Pogi has not missed a single Regular Session or Committee Hearing.

True to his promise that “no one will be left behind,” Cong Pogi has prioritized extending help to the most vulnerable sectors of society.

In Cong Pogi’s first 100 days as district representative, 4,410 daycare students received school supplies, personally delivered by Cong Pogi to child development centers in the First District.

A total of 3,644 residents were given assistance through the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Another 1,881 residents were given free medicines, 317 residents were given financial assistance, 43 residents were given burial assistance, and 74 wheelchairs were distributed through Cong Pogi’s District Office.

Cong Pogi personally visited 61 senior citizens in Mabalacat City and Magalang Municipality to bring free medicines and provide medical assistance.

Forty-one caskets have been given free to indigent residents, personally funded by Cong Pogi from his salary as congressman.

Cong Pogi has also awarded 64 Kapampangan achievers with certificates of recognition, and given a total of P 122,000 cash incentives for their accomplishments.

In time for Nutrition Month in July, Cong Pogi launched the first ever ‘malunggay ice cream’ in the First District, which was distributed to day care students.

In September, Cong Pogi launched the ‘Lamok Tepok Busters’ Dengue Prevention Drive, where two ‘Lamok Tepok Busters’ vehicles will roam the 87 barangays of Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and Magalang Municipality to conduct anti-dengue fogging and misting operations.

It has been a productive 100 days, but Cong Pogi shows no sign of slowing down his momentum.

A mere week ago, he was visiting public schools in the First District to inspect the construction of multi-purpose buildings. The visits coincided with the celebration of World Teacher’s Day, and Cong Pogi arrived bearing cakes as gifts for the teachers.

The distribution of medical, financial, and burial assistance, as well as free caskets, at the District Office is on-going.

In the following days, Cong Pogi is set to file more legislation focusing on education, livelihood, and children’s rights, which he had outlined in his legislative agenda during his campaign. Team Lazatin Media
