MABALACAT CITY – A total of 3,063 daycare pupils are set to receive school supplies from Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. during a five-day distribution of his personal donation of school supplies in 61 daycare centershere beginning Sept. 11.

Each daycare student will get a tote bag with a set of school supplies, including crayons, notebooks, pencil, eraser, sharpener, and writing pad. Lazatin will also give five kilos of rice to the parents of each daycare student.

The rice and school supplies are personal donations of Lazatin which he promised to personally distribute back in June 28, when he officially declared his candidacy for Pampanga’s first congressional district seat.

Lazatin was joined in the distribution by Rey Pineda, president of the Association of Barangay Captains of Mabalacat; barangay captains Derrick Dee of Dau, Rene Liwanag of Duquit, Elmer Mendiola of Poblacion, and Rustico Garbo of Cacutud with their respective councils; barangay councils of Mamatitang and Mangalit; Lazatin chief adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and long-time Lazatin aide, Mina Cabiles.

Lazatin is also scheduled to distribute school supplies in Magalang town in the coming weeks.

It can be recalled that on July 23 and 24, Lazatin also took part in the nationwide Brigada Eskwela 2024 in Mabalacat and Magalang. Sixty schools in Mabalacat City and 27 schools in Magalang received 40 liters of paint and 10 sacks of cement each, personally donated by Lazatin out of his own pocket.

Participating and donating in the Brigada Eskwela has been a yearly tradition for Lazatin since being elected councilor in Angeles City back in 2013.

As for the “Cong” in appended to his nickname, it is the contraction of the Kapampangan word for “coyang”, used to address an older male. Team Lazatin-PR
