CABANATUAN CITY – A community pantry has opened to cater to local residents along Fort Ramon Magsaysay Road in Barangay Camp Tinio here on Sunday.
“Ang layunin ng ating pantry ay ang makapaghatid ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan at makapagbigay daan rin naman para sa mga taong gustong magbahagi ng tulong ngunit walang lugar na mapaglalagyan.Ating tandaan, walang maliit o malaking tulong basta sama-sama, may magiging epekto iyan,” said Kathleen Musni who initiated the program here.
She explained the local pantry works the same with the one in Maginhawa St., Quezon City that went viral in social media and found replication in many many communities in the country.
Aside from food items like rice, noodles, coffee, eggs, condiments like salt and pepper, and a variety of fresh vegetables, facemasks were also made available for anybody who may be in need of them.
Musni said several people have already came to help or add items.
Another community pantry opened in Barangay Cabu, also of this city, she said.
