DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Long lines of people on Monday filled municipal halls in Bataan during the first registration day after the May 13 elections for the barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections on October 28, 2013.

Elaine Grace Santiago, election officer of Dinalupihan, Bataan, said registration started Monday and to last until July 31.

The youth from 15 to 17 years of age registering for the SK polls occupied the back portion of the municipal hall while new voters, transferees and those renewing their registration for the regular elections, this time for the barangay polls,  crowded the inner portion of the hall.

“Kakaunti pa nga ‘yan, kanina wala ng madaanan,” Santiago said.

Some Aeta youth ate their lunch inside a vehicle while waiting for their turn to register for the first time.

Big crowds were also noticed at the offices of the Commission on Elections in the towns of Hermosa, Orani, Samal and Abucay and the City of Balanga even during lunch time.

OLONGAPO CITY — Waves of young men and women from the city’s 17 barangays  swamped the Comelec office here on the first day of registration for the barangay and SK elections.

The SK registration had been earlier undertaken but only a few youth managed to register, a Comelec official said.

Processing at the city Comelec office was slowed down with a single working “photo capture.”

The filing of registration, transfer, correction of entries, change of status and reactivation of voters started July 22 and will end on July 31.
