CLTV celebrated its 15th Anniversary with activities for Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises or MSMEs this Friday, May 20, 2022 at Robinsons Starmills, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The celebration aims to further boost business confidence and drive consumer spending amidst the pandemic.
CLTV officials led by CLTV President and General Manager Sonia P. Soto together with Elenita Ordonio, Director of the Department of Trade and Industry Pampanga Provincial Office, and Terry Carlos, Director of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated (PAMCHAM), launched the Manyali Tamu Trade Fair as part of the festivities.
The Trade Fair showcased local products by Kapampangan entrepreneurs starting their businesses anew and flourishing despite the pandemic. Some of these successful enterprises are Bie Marangle, a farm specializing in mushrooms cooked in delicious ways for every palate; and Milky Dangooo, known for the sumptuous dessert of Japanese glutinous rice balls and its Pinoy version with pastillas filling.
A Business Conference, “Ibalik ang Sigla, Ibalik ang Saya ng Lokal na Ekonomiya” was also organized by the station to impart the current programs of the government for MSMEs. Participants learned about the growth of the private sector as industries begin to benefit from the easing up of health and safety protocols in the country. The conference was also a venue for the launch of the station’s new program which promotes local businesses, Business As Usual.
According to Soto, the idea behind the business conference and trade fair is to encourage the public to support local products and maintain, if not increase, the economic activity of the region as it begins to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it is also a way for the station to champion local pride by celebrating Central Luzon’s rich culture, traditions, festivals, crafts, cuisines, and lifestyles.
“Labinlimang taon na ang nakakaraan mula ng hinangad ng aming late founder, at Laus Group of Companies Chairman and CEO na si Levy P. Laus, na palawakin pa ang kanyang adbokasiya na paunlarin ang kanayunan, at maghatid ng makabuluhang balita’t impormasyon, hindi lamang sa Pampanga, kundi sa buong Central Luzon,” Soto said in her opening remarks about the founding of CLTV. (Fifteen years have passed since our late founder and Laus Group of Companies Chairman and CEO Levy P. Laus aspired to expand his advocacy of countryside development and bring relevant news and information, not only to Pampanga but also to the rest of Central Luzon.)
She also added, “Kasama rin sa aming layunin na suportahan ang lokal na ekonomiya, upang sa ating rehiyon, kaunlara’y matamasa.” (One of our goals is to support the local economy, so that we can all reap the rewards of progress in the region.)
Earlier that day, CLTV also opened a photo exhibit featuring the story and the journey of the station for the past fifteen years. Ruston Banal, a Kapampangan interdisciplinary artist, Ching Pangilinan and Mike Quizon of the City Government of San Fernando, and Lavern Aquino of Robinsons Starmills graced the ribbon cutting. Pictures of notable events and old broadcast equipment serve as quiet mementos of the history of the station, heralding the future of CLTV in the digital era, where viewers can expect a clearer and better TV viewing experience.
The CLTV Trade Fair and Photo Exhibit are open until May 30, 2022 at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga during mall hours.
