SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Earlier today, the SBMA received information from the DOH Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit that a health worker from Bataan, who was allowed access in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) rules, had tested positive for COVID19.
The health worker entered the Royal Choices duty-free shop to buy some items on April 13, Monday, at about 11:00 a.m.
In view of the above, the Authority hereby advises all persons who were inside the Royal Choices and its perimeter on Monday, April 13, from 10:00 a.m. onwards, and until 3:00 p.m. today, April 14, to please go to the nearest Public Health Center for the necessary declaration and monitoring protocols.
For residents and workers of the Subic Bay Freeport, please call the SBMA Incident Management Team-Emergency Operations Center (IMT-EOC) at Tels. 252-4056 / 252-4077 / 0920-970-3159.
Further, the Authority has ordered the following:
1. Closure of Royal Choices today, April 14 until April 15 for thorough disinfection; and
2. Mandatory requirement of SBMA-issued Home Quarantine Pass/Business Quarantine Pass and SBMA-issued ID card upon entry in all duty-free shops and similar business establishments in the Subic Bay Freeport.
Quarantine Passes issued by various local government units will not be allowed and accepted starting today, April 14, 2020.
In order to purchase any good or service from any establishment in the Freeport, an individual’s SBMA ID and SBMA Quarantine Pass will be strictly required.
The new requirement will be enforced to further restrict access to duty-free shops and similar establishments to only qualified Freeport locators and employees, Freeport residents, and authorized SBMA personnel.
Again, we urge all stakeholders in the Subic Bay Freeport to strictly adhere to ECQ rules.
This is for everyone’s sake and peace of mind.
