CABANATUAN CITY — Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara ordered the suspension of classes in all levels, in both public and private schools here on Wednesday, July 26.

Executive Order 025 s. 2023 issued Tuesday said the suspension of classes was needed “as a precautionary measure and in anticipation in any development that may arise” due to Typhoon Egay.

“To ensure the safety of the Cabanatuan citizenry,” said the EO. Nueva Ecija has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 1.

The EO explained that the city disaster risk reduction and management council had recommended pre-emptive measures to prevent untoward incidents, and ensure the safety of the general public from the unprecedented danger to lives and properties.

Moderate rains continue pouring as of press time. The water level in all waterways within the Cabanatuan City’s area of responsibility remain at normal level as of 8 a.m. Wednesday.

CDRRMO equipment were visibly pre-positioned in various strategic points in the city.
