BALANGA CITY — Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III suspended Friday afternoon classes in all levels, both public and private, in all schools across Bataan.

The governor said the provincial disaster and risk reduction management office has reported that in relation to bad weather brought by Typhoon Karding, heavy rains will be felt in Bataan two or three hours from now.

He said that all agencies of government tasked in disaster response are ready and monitoring to respond to any eventualities.

A few minutes before Garcia’s declaration, Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion issued a suspension order for all schools in Mariveles.

“For the safety of the students, teachers and non-teaching personnel and due to the bad weather, classes are cancelled in all levels in both public and private schools in Mariveles this afternoon,” the mayor said.
