Clark now a major MICE site

CLARK FREEPORT— Various industry groups are now turning to this freeport to make it their major location for meetings, incentive travels, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

This was gleaned from a report by Clark Development Corporation’s Tourism and Promotions Division which recorded a total of 913 MICE activities held here last year.

The report also said these events generated some 123,405 participants where 122,002 are local guests and 1,403 are foreign attendees.

In 2018, the major activities that were organized here included the Aeromart Summit where various stakeholders in the aerospace and aviation industries in the logistics chain gathered in this freeport and the Salangian Art Exhibit where it showcased the artworks of noteworthy Kapampangan artists.

Set for this month are key players in the construction industry who are expected to converge here for the PhilConstruct Luzon on March 28 to 30 at the ASEAN Convention Center.

Dubbed as the country’s leading construction show, some 200 brands of building materials, construction equipment and cooling technologies among others will be showcased during he event.

The CDC with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority threw their support behind the Philippine Constructors Association as organizer of the said event that will also be attended by architects, contractors, and engineers from different parts of the country.

Other tourism activities that are being held here include sports-related events namely fun runs, marathons, duathlon, triathlon, football, tours and festivals among others.

This freeport is also gearing up to host the upcoming Southeast Asia (SEA) Games 2019 where athletes and guests from 11 countries in Southeast Asia are expected to attend.

With these developments, this freeport is now becoming a major MICE location.
