MAKATI – Three hotels in the Clark Freeport were among 37 outstanding stakeholders recognized by the Department of Tourism at the PH-ASEAN Tourism Standards Awarding Ceremony held here last Nov. 27.
Quest Plus Conference Center Clark and Clark Marriott Hotel were awarded under the ASEAN MICE Venue-Meeting Room Category.
Apricus Therapeutic Clinic at Hilton Clark Sunvalley Resort and Quan Spa at Clark Marriott Hotel were the sole awardees in the ASEAN Spa Services Category.
The recognition serves as “an enduring commitment to be globally competitive as part of the National Tourism Development Plan for 2023 to 2028” of the DOT, with the awardees being at par with ASEAN counterparts on the categories of sustainability and inclusivity, and for their compliance with ASEAN standards on Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) Venue – Meeting Rooms and Exhibition Venue categories, the condition of public toilets, and spa services among others.
Among those recognized, the DOT inducted into the Hall of Fame 10 distinguished industry partners who are at least three-time awardees: Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort, Baguio Country Club, Amarela Resort, Amorita Resort, Conrad Manila, The Manor at Camp John Hay, and The Bellevue Resort for the Green Hotel category; Conrad Manila’s Forbes Ballroom and Baguio Country Club’s William Cameron Forbes Ballroom for the MICE Venue – Meeting Room category; and the Palaui Environmental Protectors Association (PEPA) for the Community-Based Tourism category.
Receiving the award for Quest Plus were general manager Michael Gapin and director of sales and marketing Judy Sarmiento.
