CLARK FREEPORT – Shoppers, bargain hunters as well as sports enthusiasts and fans, adventurers, weekend tourists and ordinary folks will have something to look forward in this Freeport this coming November 15-16.

The Clark Development Corp. (CDC) in partnership with the Clark Locators and Investors Association (CILA) has finalized plans for The Grand Clark Festival.

During the Balitaan of the Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) at the Bale Balita here, CILA president Rene Banzon announced a series of activities slated for the two-day fair.

“For the first time, the grand festival will showcase what the Clark Freeport Zone has to offer in terms of products and services being cranked up by its 500 business locators,” Banzon said.

The two-day fair is a joint effort of CILA and the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) now headed by Arthur Tugade.

It will feature multiple activities aimed at meeting the varied expectations and interests of the festival’s participants and visitors. “We hope to whip up a fiesta cum Christmas atmosphere in the zone with the activities we have lined up to entice a good number of participants and visitors,” Banzon explained, stressing this also represents Clark ‘s way of helping usher in the onset of the Christmas Holidays this year.

Banzon said among the activities that CDC and CILA have lined up include a trade fair, golf tournament, sports fests showcasing different disciplines (golf tournament, American football, rugby, fun bike race, fun run and others), a sky diving exhibition, cooking demo, an animal (including a dog) show and a horse-riding festival, which will likewise feature a cowgirl competition.

Cultural presentations from native dance shows by the Nayong Pilipino and a Korean orchestra recital to marching bands and majorettes competitions, as well as a rock band competition are also in the card, according to Banzon, the main guest in the weekly media forum of the CAMI.

His “good” news for shopaholic and bargain hunters is the intention of the zone’s manufacturers of quality items that range from TV sets, computers and other electronic products to auto tires and garments/ accessories to sell their products at discounted prices during the festival.

Even the hotel and casino establishments in the Freeport zone plans to offer discounted packages to the festival participants and visitors during the weekend event, he added.
