CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark has awarded the top five exporters of this freeport and the top five major contributors of the bureau’s revenue collection drive in its area of collection under District XIV.

Leading the top exporters here are Yokohama Tire Phils. Inc. (YTPI) followed by Phoenix Semiconductor Phils. Inc. (PSPC) in second spot, Nanox Phils., Inc  at third, L&T International Group Phils., Inc. at fourth and HLD Clark Steel Pipe Co. Inc. in 5th place.

On the other hand, the top BOC major sources of collections are PTT Phils. Trading Corp. in first place with P532,821,063.75 revenue contribution; UPS with P468,378,182 in second place; LUBWELL Corp. is third with revenue collection of  P49,341,576.44; Trust International Paper Corp. (TIPCO) in fourth with P33,888,002; and YTPI with P19,207,280.59 revenue collection in fifth place.

BOC District Collector Ronnie C. Silvestre, who earned a reputation as “Mr. PR” among his colleagues in the bureau for his “friendliness” to clients and stakeholders, congratulated the top performers among importers and exporters as he revealed the BOC Port of Clark’s new slogan: “We can do better.”

Silvestre, who acknowledged that “this is the first time in the Port of Clark to have the top locators as well as the top executives of the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) and Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC),” vowed to collaborate closely with the CDC to “find ways and means on how to improve our presence at the (Clark) airport.”

CIAC president and CEO Victor Jose Luciano thanked the BOC “for helping in the growth of the Clark airport over the years” and also vowed to work hand-in-hand with the BOC in the further development of the airport , citing big airline companies like Emirates which will start coming to Clark in October.

“Where Emirates goes the other airlines follow,” said Luciano referring to the importance of the Middle-Eastern airline’s Clark route. “Let us continue to make Clark grow,” he added.

For his part, CDC president and CEO Arthur Tugade cited the BOC for exemplifying “the tripod of a blooming community – the government, the business locators and the community whose presence is best exemplified by the media.”

The CDC president also cited Clark locators for their role in making Clark what it is today. “You are the heart and soul of any business undertaking. It is because of you that we are all here today,” Tugade said.  ”You make business in Clark more fun,” he added.

“Clark will reach the highest peak it so richly deserved. Government alone cannot do it, business alone cannot do it, the community alone cannot do it. But together- the government, business and the community together – we can all do it,” Tugade said.

“Let’s put Clark in the map of the world not only in the way business should perform  but more importantly in interjecting morality and good philosophy in the business that yields revenues,” he said.
