CLARK FREEPORT
A molecular laboratory built jointly by the Bases Conversion Development Authority and the Philippine National Red Cross here is expected to be completed April 29.

BCDA president-CEO Vince Dizon said the laboratory will have three polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines capable of conducting up to 1,500 Covid-19 tests per day.

The BCDA had for its partners the Clark Development Corp. and the Clark International Airport Corp. in the building of the facility at the Clark Civil Aviation Complex here, Dizon said, being a part of the national government’s strategy to ramp up the testing for the coronavirus disease.”

The laboratory project is in addition to the conversion of facilities within Clark into We Heal As One Centers meant to isolate Covid-positive patients, reduce community spread, and decongest hospitals, subscribing to the government strategy that was earlier articulated by Dizon as Locate, isolate, cure.

These include the ASEAN Convention Center with a capacity of 150 beds, the New Clark City National Government Administrative Center with 688 beds that can be expanded to 1,000 beds, and the Athletes’ Village with 525 rooms. BZL with BCDA Comm.
