Cherry Castro, 32, of San Simon, Pampanga got the surprise of her life as soon as she entered the arrival lounge of this airport on Monday.
Welcoming her were Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) officials led by OIC Alexander Cauguiran as well as officials from PAL. The officials were waiting for the 10 millionth passenger as they watched the monitor on the countdown to 10 million.
As soon as Castro emerged, she was welcomed with a celebration.
Castro was travelling with her husband as well as some members of her family.
She received a gift certificate for 20,000 Mabuhay Miles from PAL which may be redeemed for a round trip ticket to either Macau or Hong Kong and premium gifts from PAL and CIAC that include a plaque of recognition for the milestone.
This airport received its first 1 millionth passenger for the period of one year in October 2012. In November of the same year, the 5 millionth passenger was welcomed.
Airline passengers started arriving at this airport via commercial flights in January 2001.
