CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of 290,647 families in Central Luzon have been helped by the program Rektang Bayanihan of Police Regional Office 3 amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.
PRO-3 regional director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia said the initiative was launched three days after the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine over the whole of Luzon last March.
Since then, the program has not stopped providing relief assistance, hygiene kits and food packages to families adversely affected by the quarantine, including the indigenous people’s communities.
“With PRO3’s Food Bank, Rektang Bayanihan is being sustained through donations of the different government agencies and stakeholders all over the region,” Sermonia said.
This, as he renewed his appeal “to all kind-hearted groups and individuals to help provide for the less fortunate or most vulnerable sectors in every barangay thru Rektang Bayanihan.”
The campaign, he said, is also in line with the program thrusts of new PNP chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan in rekindling the Filipino bayanihan spirit. —Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA 3
