ANGELES CITY – The Central Luzon region is once again proven to be the foremost investment haven after it garnered the most Philippine Business Registry (PBR) Registrations in 2013.
“Based from the figures of our head office, we had a total of 7,052 applications last year. Calabarzon placed second while Ilocos Region ranked third,” Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Judith Angeles said.
PBR is a project envisioned to facilitate business processes by streamlining registration requirements in an environment enhanced by convenience and convergence.
“This is a move that is in line with the government’s effort to regain lost ground in the global competition,” Angeles said. As a web-based portal, it allows sharing and access of data to and from other regulatory and relevant agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System and Securities and Exchange Commission while guaranteeing that the needed assistance and necessary intervention are provided to legitimate businesses.
The system will eventually evolve into a platform for business facilitation, focused on identifying and creating more opportunities for Philippine companies, through the use of business matching modules. “DTI 3 takes on the challenge to move this initiative to necessary steps and make the system work for the Filipino people,” Angeles underscored.
