CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Pursuant to her mission of making Pampanga’s capital a smart city, Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag on the first working day of the year checked for herself the completed installation and start of the operationalization of free WiFi in the city public market in the Poblacion area.
Caluag said aide from the improvements to keep the market clean and safe, she felt the need for free Wi-Fi “to provide merchants and buyers access to the internet, present alternative digital and cashless payment options to them, and help the visiting public, especially students and workers, access their online needs.”
Joining the mayor in her market inspection were personnel from the city information and communications technology office headed by Atty. James Francis Villanueva, and city market operations division focal person Roy Pasumbal.
Caluag started the provision of free Wi-Fi in the city’s public schools: Pampanga High School, San Agustin Integrated School Annex, Northville High School, Information and Communication Technology High School, Pulung Bulu Integrated School, Del Carmen Integrated School, Calulut Integrated School, Lara Integrated School, Malpitic Integrated School, Panipuan High School, Alasas Elementary School, Pandaras Elementary School, and Maimpis Integrated School.
Free public WiFi also obtains in the City College of San Fernando in Barangay San Juan, at the Civic Center in Barangay San Isidro, and at the City Town Center Park in Barangay Calulut. Punto News Team/CSFP-CIO
