ANGELES CITY – Successive windfalls go the way of 1,260 city hall employees – 915 permanent, 329 casual, and 16 contractual – with an additional P21,000 bonus this December.
On the other hand, 3,484 contract of service (COS) employees who are qualified for the P3,000 year-end gratuity will receive theirs on Dec. 5.
The additional benefits are embodied in Memorandum No. 1486, Series of 2024 issued on July 9, 2024 by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
The P21,000 additional benefits for the 1,260 city government employees include the Productivity Enhancement Incentive worth P5,000 that will be released on Dec. 12; Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus worth P10,000 on Dec. 19; and the Service Recognition Incentive worth P6,000 which is to be released to the 1,260 workers on Dec. 23.
This is apart from their tax-free year-end bonus, equivalent to one-month basic salary, which is set to be released on November 18.
“Sa ngalan po ng mga empleyado ng city hall, kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa walang humpay na biyaya mula kay Mayor Pogi,” said Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA).
“Maraming salamat po sa maagang pagseguro ng aming mga benepisyo, na hindi lamang para sa amin, kun’di, sampu ng aming mga pamilya,” she added.
The scheduling of the release of benefits was arrived at in a meeting at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room among Lazatin chief adviser IC Calaguas, executive assistant IV Reina Manuel, city budget officer Jane Pablo Nakpil, city accounting OIC Lilibeth Enriquez, acting city treasurer Arneil Escolangco, general services OIC Evangeline Malonzo, and Santos.
