ANGELES CITY – “To honor motherhood.”

Thus said Mandy Laxamana, president of the Angeles City Day Care Workers Federation (ACDCWF), citing the reason behind the staging of “Ginang Day Care” participated in by parents of their pupils.

Laxamana disclosed that 33 mothers are vying for the title, each representing a barangay here.

“The contest reminds the parents that their participation is needed in successfully running day care centers,” said Laxamana. He and his fellow officials – Vice President Lolita Manguera and Secretary Arlene Angeles of the ACDCWF – guested at the Aksyon Central Luzon cable television program hosted by veteran journalist Sonny Lopez.

The ACDCWF officials sought the help of Lopez in promoting and getting more support for the beauty contest which talent portion will be held at SM Clark on September 16.

The coronation night will be held at the function hall of Rib Eye Restaurant in Barangay Balibago on Sept. 25.

The grand prize is P10,000 to be given by Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno. The second and third placer will get P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.

“We still need to raise the cash prices for the second and third placer,” said the ACDCWF officials.

Angeles was all praises for Lopez who had consistently helped day care teachers and pupils since he was city councilor.

Angeles said Lopez has helped them promote and raise funds for the ACDCWF events and projects even if he is no longer in politics.
