CLARK FREEPORT  The head of the state-run Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) announced Tuesday that CIAC employees will undergo Polymerase chain reaction tests to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.

Aaron Aquino, president of CIAC, said he recently approved the allocation of P600,000.00 as budget for the PCR testing of 113 employees on a quarterly basis at no cost to the employees.

“We were able to realign (the budget) to have our people tested free to ensure the health and safety of our personnel which will also benefit their families and communities. To ascertain one is COVID-free is peace of mind, something everyone needs to continue being productive at work,” Aquino said.

On top of the existing protocols imposed since March, the CIAC executive also issued an additional set of guidelines for the corporation, including the continuation of two batches of skeletal staff reporting for work, the daily check-up of employees by in-house nurses, the prohibition of large group gathering, and the set-up of a Client Transaction Area for visitors and stakeholders.

“We continue to educate our staff on ways to contain the outbreak by applying proactive and appropriate health safety protocols,” Aquino said.

Last June 4, all CIAC employees were tested with the assistance of the local government unit of Angeles City and found to be negative from COVID-19.

Three more rounds of tests of CIAC personnel were conducted on July 22, August 12 and September 18 which also yielded negative results.
