MANILA – Chroma Hospitality (CHI) – a Filinvest Company and operator of Crimson, Quest, and Timberland brand hotels in the Philippines – became an official supporter of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) ‘s Hotel Sustainability Basics initiatives.

WTTC Sustainability Basics is a set of sustainability guidelines that every hotel can follow. These guidelines are composed of 12 simple actions set across Efficiency, Planet, and People aimed to raise the base level of sustainability across the hospitality industry. Out of the 12 actions, Chroma Hospitality has already executed 10 of the 12 actions across its almost 1800 key inventory. It will implement the remaining actions and its other sustainability initiatives led by the Chroma Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (EESG) council before the end of the year.

In coordination with the Department of Tourism, Chroma Hospitality also hosted post￾summit tours and stay for delegates at Crimson Boracay and Quest Plus Clark.

“We are delighted to be given this opportunity to host and interact with the delegates of WTTC, as we fully support WTTC’s Hotel Sustainability Basics Initiatives. We are committed to running our hotels sustainably and have already incorporated a myriad of sustainable practices in our day-to-day operations.”, stated Francis Gotianun, SVP of Filinvest Hospitality Corp.

The Chroma EESG council oversees all the sustainability initiatives of the group. It ensures that these are in line with global best practices and standards. So far, Chroma has undertaken numerous sustainability efforts such as the creation of marine reserves, coral reef cleanup and rehabilitation, energy and water efficiency programs, typhoon relief efforts, single-use plastic reduction, reforestation programs, and promotion of local products and services under the “Live, Love, Local” campaign. Before the end of the year, Chroma will be releasing its first sustainability report to summarize the group’s efforts.

“While a positive guest experience is a priority, limiting the negative impact of our operations on the environment is equally important. We have dedicated our efforts to creating sustainable product offers. Guests can relax with confidence, knowing that the products and services they enjoy are environmentally compliant”. James Montenegro, Country Manager of CHI.
