AN ACT of volunteerism within SM Supermalls employees in Pampanga were rewarded with a genuine smile through a special gathering: ChriSMiles.
More than just being shopping malls, SM boosts its advocacy to care for its customers, including the children, especially on the most wonderful time of the year. Employees of SM City Pampanga, SM City San Fernando Downtown and SM City Telabastagan shared their time to spend a fun-filled day with chosen beneficiaries in nearby areas.
In SM City Pampanga, an exciting-pack activity linedup for over 50 Day Care children from the Municipality of Guagua at the province’s hottest destination, Sky Ranch Pampanga. Involvement of the employees as the kids excitedly ride the Wonder Flight, Double-decker Grand Carousel, Field Runner and Pampanga Eye — the tallest and biggest Ferris Wheel in the Philippines. Spearheaded by Assistant Mall Manager Kay Chua and Senior Human Resources Manager Nora Pural, genuine smile on the little angels’ faces were apparent as each child received a gift from the employees and a surprise appearance from Jollibee mascot.
While in SM City San Fernando Downtown, over 40 indigent kids from Barangay Sto. Rosario in the City of San Fernando enjoyed a day in the mall with fun and games. Spearheaded by Mall Manager Lana Erroba, employees distributed gifts of school supplies and hygiene kits along with snacks.
Going out beyond the corners of the mall are the Security personnel of SM City Telabastagan. Showing concrete act of love to 60 elders at Bahay Pagibig, a non-government organization in the City of San Fernando through donations of sack of rice, toiletries and groceries. Spearheaded by Customer Relations Manager Francis Velasco, the volunteer employees shared their time, love and laughter through song and dance, which the elders actively participated in. Moreover, mall employees share the gift of smile to 50 students from San Pablo Integrated School with fun, food and gifts spearheaded by Mall Manager Bong Garcia.
In this season of giving, the best gift that the SM volunteers received are the sincere happiness from the children.
