CLARK FREEPORT — Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Customs along with the National Bureau of Investigation and the police nabbed on Jan. 31 a Chinese Malaysian after he claimed baggage containing two kilos of ketamine worth P10 million.
Arrested during a controlled delivery operation at a condominium unit in Pasig City was Thai Lian Shiong, 24, residing at The Currency Residence, Julia Vargas, Ortigas, Pasig City.
BOC said the ketamine came from Malaysia and arrived at the Port of Clark last Jan. 28.
“The package containing the illegal substance was concealed inside three acupoint massage twister,” said the PDEA. Ketamine, an anesthetic to induce loss of consciousness, is reportedly used as a recreational drug.
A total of 24 plastic pouches containing some two kilos of ketamine and one cellular phone were seized in the operation.
A charge for violation of Section 4 (Importation of dangerous drugs) of RA 9165 are set to be filed against the suspect. Punto News Team
