SUBIC, Zambales — A Chinese national involved in a kidnapping incident in Makati City was arrested by operatives of the Subic Municipal Police Station while in a dragnet operation along the Govic Highway, Barangay Calapacuan here June 10 evening.
Report said the policemen flagged down one white BMW SUV with plate number CBD 9678 for verification, but the vehicle speed away heading north which prompted a brief chase ending with the car intercepted in Barangay San Jose, Castillejos.
Upon verification, the motor vehicle was found to have been involved in a kidnapping incident in Makati, which was reported at the Sub Station 2.
Police identified the suspect as Hengfa Wu, 35, resident of Ma-a, Davao City while the kidnap victim was identified as Cui Yi, 33, of U2209 Le Mirage condominium, Mabini St., Malate, Manila.
During the investigation, the victim said he saw the suspect at his carwash in the Makati area and asked for the payment of the BMW SUV he sold to the latter last year, but the suspect boarded the BMW immediately while the victim jumped to the passenger seat and asked again the former about the money.
The suspect and victim travelled from Makati to Binondo, Manila, and Taguig, and then towards NLEX, traversing Pampanga to Bataan and Subic.
During their travel, the victim said he begged for the payment of the BMW. However, the suspect told to the victim that he had a gun and hammer and asked the victim for P3.5 million in exchange for his release.
Recovered inside the BMW SUV were P1,540 in different denomination and assorted personal belongings of the suspect.
The suspect and the victim, together with the vehicle recovered, are under the custody of Subic police for further investigation and will be turned over to Maj. Welken Noblejas, commander of Police Sub-Station 2 (Palanan) of the Makati City Police Station. Photos courtesy of Subic Police
