Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on February 6, 2024 issued a marching order to the members of the Health Office — Sanitation Division, led by Alvin Dingal, and Business Permit and Licensing Division, headed by Enrico Romero, to check all the water sources of public schools in the city amid reports of diarrhea and stomach flu.

Among the schools visited today by the teams from CHO and BPLD are Cutud Elementary School, EPZA Resettlement Elementary School, Elementary School, Pulung Cacutud Elementary School, Gueco Balibago Elementary School, Alberto G. Pabalan Elementary School, Sta. Maria Elementary School, Bonifacio V. Romero High School and Senior High School, Northville 15 Integrated School, Rafael L. Lazatin Memorial High School and Senior High School.

The other public and private schools in the city will also be visited by members of the CHO and BPLD via schedule.

Mayor Lazatin released Memorandum No. 370 Series of 2024 ordering the CHO and BPLD to test all the water sources of all schools in the city for E.coli and coliform.

“We are doing this to ensure na safe po ang iniinom na tubig ng ating mga estudyante,” Lazatin said.

This order was prompted by the alleged rising number of stomach flu incidents in both public and private hospitals in the city.
