CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – As part of its celebration of the National Arts Month, the Provincial Government of Pampanga, through its Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office (ACTOP), hosted a charcoal painting contest at the historic Governor Macario Arnedo Park on Feb. 7.
Fourteen local artists participated in the event, showcasing their talents and paying homage to the rich cultural heritage of the province.
The contest, themed “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin” (Harvest of Art: Spirit and Emotion), featured Mutya ning Kapampangan 2024, Natalya Lindsay, as the model for the live art session.
Artists captured her likeness using charcoal medium, highlighting the depth and versatility of this traditional art form.
Winners in the competition were Jessica Julia J. Cariño, first place; Brylle Nicol Jhon Patiu, second place; and David Kings P. Viray, third. Dave B. Salenga and Jiovanni P. Turla rounded out the top five, respectively.
By providing platforms such as this contest, the provincial government reaffirms its commitment to supporting local artists and preserving the vibrant Kapampangan culture. Pampanga PIO
