Cessna plane crashes in NE town

    CABANATUAN CITY – A Cessna plane bearing two persons crashed in a barangay in Rizal, Nueva Ecija Thursday morning. Chief Insp. Cornelio Domingo, Rizal chief of police, said one of the two persons, identified as Paul Pafultad, 30, of Binalonan, Pangasinan who was the pilot, suffered injuries in the head.

    The other, Wen Hiet, 21, a national of Myanmar, appeared unscathed but was also brought to a clinic in the town for first aid treatment and medical examination. The plane, whose origin was still undetermined as of press time, crashed into a house owned by Glen Paraiso, a farmer, in Poblacion Norte around 7:30 in the morning.

    No one on the ground, however, was injured but the house’s rooftop suffered damages. The plane, as of press time, was still on top of the rooftop waiting to be brought down by authorities concerned, Domingo said.

    Residents of the area were startled by the incident but were thankful that on one was hurt among them, said a resident of the area.
