CENTRAL LUZON: 5 govs reelected, 2 in switches among kin

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – All five reelecting governors of Central Luzon won by big margins over all comers, new and old in the political game. This, per the unofficial count of Halalan 2022.

At 97.6% of the count, Bulacan’s Daniel Fernando has 965,521 votes to former governor and incumbent vice governor Willy Sy-Alvarado’s 570,233,

In Nueva Ecija, Gov. Oyie Umali garnered 822,374 votes against rival incumbent Palayan City Mayor Rianne Cuevas’ 366,756 with 99.5% of the votes in.

Pampanga Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda has 644,303 votes against former Candaba Mayor Danilo Baylon’s 450,614, with 96.6 % of the votes counted.

From 100% of the returns in Zambales, Gov. Jun Ebdane posted 199,874 votes against Cheryl Deloso-Montalla with 133,479.

Running unopposed, Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap still got 598,224 votes.

In Aurora father and son succeeded in trading places at the Capitol. Atty. Christian Noveras was voted governor by 74,272 against Sid Galban with 43,796 votes. The father Gerardo Noveras won the vice gubernatorial seat with 75,385 votes against Narciso Amansec with 39,824 votes.

An equally successful switching of positions between brothers obtained in Bataan with Joet Garcia winning the governorship unopposed with 374,314 vote, and incumbent Gov. Albert Garcia taking the former’s 2nd District congressional seat with 127,822 votes against Laissa Roque with 34,061 votes.
