CLARK FREEPORT— The first batch of individuals under the A4 priority group in this Freeport received on June 24, 2021, their initial dose of COVID-19 vaccine during the launch of Clark Development Corporation’s (CDC) vaccination program here.
CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan graced the first day of the inoculation program and expressed his thanks to government officials, Local Government Units (LGUs), and other partner agencies for making the program possible.
Gaerlan cited the support of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vivencio Dizon, National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and City Government of Mabalacat Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, for their efforts to speed up the facilitation of the vaccination activity here.
The vaccination activity in this Freeport also corresponds to the immunization program instigated by Mabalacat City LGU.
With the arrival of 150 COVID-19 vaccines here yesterday, CDC kicked off its immunization drive at the Clark Polytechnic and inoculated 100 economic front liners with the said vaccines. CDC Health and Sanitation Division (HSD) Manager Dr. Clemencita Dobles supervised the vaccination activity together with other HSD personnel, doctors, and other medical staff from Department of Health (DOH) Region III. Some 200 vaccines are also expected to arrive today (June 25).
The inoculation procedure consists of five steps: registration, counseling, health evaluation, vaccination, and monitoring. Monitoring will take 15 to 30 minutes to see whether any side effects occur after the vaccine was injected. Once certified and validated by the health care provider assigned to the monitoring station, inoculated individuals will be allowed to leave the monitoring area.
Meanwhile, ambulance and other ancillary health personnel are also on standby, in case of an emergency at the immunization site.
According to CDC, more Clark workers and residents will be immunized in the coming days based on scheduling and arrival of vaccines.
Since May of this year, the state-owned corporation has been coordinating with Metro Clark Local Government Units, DOH, and Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to facilitate the vaccination program here. Similarly, CDC has also been active in enlisting Clark locators, employees, and residents, who would like to receive immunization. Through this strategy, the state-owned corporation believes that the CFZ community will attain herd immunity and prevent further transmission of COVID-19 in workplaces and in their homes.
