CLARK FREEPORT
 – Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Noel F. Manankil extended his heartfelt thanks to the members of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for spearheading this year’s Philippine Accountancy Week.

Manankil, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) himself, is also the President of the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants (GACPA) – Pampanga Chapter. In his short video message, he mentioned the importance of the celebration among his fellow CPAs.

“Over the years, the annual celebration of the Philippine accountancy week has brought us together to honor our significance and contributions to nation building,” he said.

The Philippine Accountancy Week has been commemorated in the country since Malacañang issued Proclamation No. 218 series of 2002 signed on July 10, 2002, declaring the Accountancy Week Celebration (AWC) every third week of July.

The week-long celebration themed “Filipino CPAs rising in solidarity amidst challenging times” will start on July 12 until July 18, 2020.

Manankil especially thanked PICPA – the umbrella organization of GACPA, and its partner associations for pushing through to commemorate the notable event amidst the worldwide pandemic.

“Despite the challenges brought about by the Covid pandemic, PICPA pushed through to commemorate this year’s Philippine Accountancy Week.  Though it may be in a different form, yet the substance remains the same – that is to foster greater cooperation and camaraderie,” Manankil said.

The celebration of the Philippine Accountancy Week recognizes Filipino CPAs for their contributions, all for the betterment of our economy and the entire country.
