CLARK FREEPORT – The Philippine government’s estate administrator for Clark Freeport Zone, led by its first female president, continues to win performance-based excellence awards.
The Clark Development Corporation (CDC), under the direction of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, has won praise from both public and private organizations for its dynamic performance and reputation for excellent government service.
CDC was honored as a top-ranking government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC), achieving an outstanding score of ninety-nine percent (99%) in the 2022 Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS). The freeport’s estate manager received this award during the GOCC Governance Awards Ceremony at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila on November 20.
The award was given by the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG).
Moreover, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has recognized CDC as one of its outstanding GOCC partners, citing CDC’s performance in ensuring and safeguarding government interests and assets.
In a related development, other key agencies have also formally acknowledged the CDC’s major contributions to upgrading government efficiency.
CDC’s Accounting Division received the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) Inc. Outstanding Accounting Office Award on October 18 at the SMX Center in Bacolod City. They were recognized for meeting the criteria of accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and compliance with accounting rules and regulations set by the Committee on Awards.
Acknowledging its exceptional role as a vital partner in addressing the needs of local government units (LGUs), CDC received commendation from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). Atty. Devanadera accepted the plaque for the NextGen Regional CapDev Accelerator in Local Governance Award during the ceremonies held on December 12.
The NextGen Regional CapDev Accelerator in Local Governance Award is given to DILG partners running programs or projects that enhance LGU capabilities under full devolution. It aims to acknowledge their potential to empower LGUs and promote excellence in local governance, while also recognizing emerging entities capable of driving innovation and excellence in this field.
In a separate event, DILG Region 3 has recognized the CDC’s efforts in creating jobs and sustainable livelihood programs.
CDC also received recognition from the Schools Division of Angeles City (SDAC) during the Project ROSES (Recognizing Outstanding Stakeholders for Engagement and Support for Basic Education) ceremony. The SDAC award given by the Department of Education (DepEd) highlights the CDC’s support for the Schools Division of Angeles City, particularly in the implementation of the Brigada Eskwela program.
The Department of Education also awarded CDC the Gawad KATIG Award on December 19 for its commitment as an education partner in the realization of DepEd’s MATATAG agenda.
Furthermore, a top business and lifestyle magazine recognized Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), for her leadership in driving positive change and growth across diverse industries and communities.
At the Captains of Industries event held on December 19 at the Malaysian Ambassador’s residence, Atty. Devanadera received the award from Rising Tigers Magazine.
Throughout her extensive government career spanning several decades, Atty. Devanadera held various pivotal roles within the government administration—the first woman Secretary of Justice, the first woman lawyer from Quezon Province admitted to the New York Bar, the first woman Government Corporate Counsel, the first woman Solicitor General, the first woman to become a full-pledged Secretary of Justice, and the first woman President of the CDC.
