MANILA — “You embody, you encapsulate a woman of power, a woman of accomplishment, sincerity, and decency, and I think every woman in the Department of Justice and the country would really be in a position to exalt you and to follow your lead.”

Thus, Justice Undersecretary Raul Vasquez hailed Clark Development Corp. president-CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera who graced DOJ’s flag-raising ceremony on March 11 as guest of honor and speaker for their National Women’s Month celebration.

It was a homecoming of sorts for the first woman president of Clark Development Corp. who was twice appointed as full-pledged Secretary of Justice.

In her speech, Devanadera underscored women’s leadership journey while acknowledging men’s vital support.

“Women have been transformed into leaders. The women and men formed service-oriented leaders, and for that, in the celebration of Women’s Month, we just have to give credit to the men for allowing the women to bloom and blossom,” she said.

Devanadera noted the significant rise in female enrollment in law schools, surpassing males, and the increasing presence of women in the judiciary and the National Prosecution Service, indicating progress in gender equality.

She hailed the DOJ’s dedication to challenging stereotypes and empowering women to move beyond traditional roles, underscoring the significance pf women’s perspectives which contribute to fairness, balance, and attention to detail within the justice system.
