CLARK FREEPORT – Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) takes a bold stance against human trafficking, aligning with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. ‘s call for digital transformation in-state entities.

During a meeting held on May 31 at the Clark Visitors Center, CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera and BI Commissioner Atty. Norman Garcera Tansingco highlighted the crucial role of collaboration in the fight against human trafficking. They also reached an agreement on key reforms and emphasized the use of technology to strengthen their partnership in monitoring and regulating the employment of foreign nationals.

“At CDC, we are committed to leveraging technology as a powerful tool in the fight against human trafficking. By integrating technology-driven solutions, we aim to create a safer environment and provide seamless experiences for all stakeholders,” said Atty. Devanadera.

To streamline visa processing, CDC and BI will integrate their databases, resulting in improved efficiency and accuracy of data exchange. Additionally, CDC will explore the implementation of E-Visas, which will enable the issuance of work visas directly from the home countries of foreign nationals, thereby simplifying and expediting the process.

As part of their efforts, CDC will undergo comprehensive training from the BI Academy to enhance their proficiency in profiling and evaluating visa applicants and other immigration matters.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of process calibration and coordination to ensure thorough due diligence, evaluation, and profiling of foreign nationals in compliance with immigration laws.

CDC and BI are firmly committed to promptly implement these reforms, setting an exemplary standard for other organizations. Their shared objective is to combat human trafficking, safeguard the rights of foreign workers, and create a safer environment within the Freeport.

It is worth noting that President Bongbong Marcos consistently emphasizes the significance of digitalization and business process efficiency as part of the administration’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to the public. This commitment aligns with the Philippine Development Plan and underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing service delivery.
