MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is strengthening its partnership with various local government units in the province of Bulacan in the promotion of culture and the arts.

CCP President Ad Interim Michelle Nikki Junia said they aim to make their presentations, services and advocacies more accessible to the masses.

“This is rooted in the agency’s 53-year old principle of the truth, the good and the beautiful,” she furthered.

CCP’s resident symphony orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO), recently performed in front of the façade of the Barasoain Church as part of the 24th cityhood anniversary of Malolos.

The city government, in partnership with the Office of Senator Joel Villanueva, invited other local chief executives in the province to help the CCP link with other towns and cities for performances and other services.

PPO and other resident performing companies may conduct concerts in towns and cities, as long as host local governments formally request the CCP and shoulder the logistics.

Meanwhile, Junia offered the services of the agency to Bulacan residents in the creative industry.

CCP provides assistance and services in the field of film and broadcast arts, literary and visual arts, theater, dance and music.

It also conducts workshops, seminars, anthologies, exhibits, symposiums, competitions and awards.

“CCP strongly supports the growth and development of those in the creative industry through the Cultural Content Program, Cultural Exchange Program and the annual Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival,” she pressed.

Aside from PPO, other resident performing companies in the CCP include the Philippine Ballet Theatre, Tanghalang Pilipino, National Music Competitions for Young Artists, Philippine Madrigal Singers, Ballet Philippines, and the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group. (CLJD/SFV-PIA 3)
