MABALACAT CITY – Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano is pushing for a P10,000 cash aid to every Filipino family to help recover amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
This, he announced during a meeting with farmers in Barangay Sta. Maria here on Monday as he also handed P10,000 cash assistance as part of his Sampung Libong Pag-asa Program.
The former House speaker said what every Filipino needs at present can be simplified into three Rs: Relief, Recovery, and Reform. Cayetano also believes in a five-year plan in order to recover economically, from farmers to MSMEs, and urban development due to the pandemic.
Cayetano proposes a four percent mandatory savings through the five-year plan from 2022 to 2026 in order to give P10,000 “ayuda” noting that it can raise the budget up to P200 billion which can benefit every Filipino. He cited former President Fidel V. Ramos as having done the same measure and approach during his administration in order for the country to recover from power and economic crisis.
He also asked the farmers to help him further push his proposal on the P10,000 ayuda and urged his colleagues to be able to distribute in an instant citing that farmers here will have a hard time getting through Landbank to serve their needs.
“We are in search of projects and programs to help people that’s why ang major push natin ay P10,000 sa lahat. Why don’t we make it easy katulad ng P10,000 ayuda. I-distribute natin yan, just like the SAP, derecho na sa tao,” Cayetano said.
Joining Cayetano in his visit here were Vice Mayor Atty. Gerald Guttrie Aquino, councilors Carlo Francis Dizon and Jun Castro, Sta. Maria village chief Enrico Espino, and barangay kagawads.
Aquino, for his part, said the P10-K cash aid is of significant help among the farmers, noting that the local government here is also helping them through the city agricultural office by supplying machinery, equipment, as well as cash assistance.
