DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Children from 16 Catholic schools in Bataan on Tuesday showered 840 pupils from public elementary schools here with story narration on Christmas in 16 countries in the form of dances and songs.
Bishop Ruperto C. Santos said that aside from the dance and song presentations, school supplies, toothbrush and toothpaste, among some other items, were given to the children as early Christmas gifts.
“Ipinapakita natin na ang bata ay tumutulong sa kanyang kapwa bata ganoon din ang private schools ay tumutulong sa public schools lalo na ngayong Pasko na nangangahulugan ng pagbibigayan at pagmamahalan,” he said.
Santos said the benefi ciaries were public school pupils in Grades IV and VI. Rev. Fr. Roy Guila, superintendent of diocesan schools in Bataan, said the early Christmas treat to children in public schools is a project of Bishop Santos going on its second year.
The participants coming from schools under the Diocese of Balanga and other Catholic educational institutions wore costumes of countries they represented and interpreted through songs and dances how Christmas is being celebrated.
