OLONGAPO CITY — Operatives of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT), Zambales in coordination with Cabangan town police recovered a carnapped vehicle used in robbery in Tuba, Benguet.
Follow up operations led by PHPT Zambales provincial chief Inspector Marlon Agno ked to the recovery of a Hyundai Elantra (UMI-665) owned by Ulysses Gray Palinpin, 60, businessman, native of Cabangan, Zambales and resident of No. 95 Cariño Street, Baguio City.
Witnesses in the area said the vehicle was left by unknown persons last July 18, parked along the National Highway in Barangay Dolores, Cabangan.
A report from Chief Inspector James Domansi Acod, head of Tuba Municipal Police Station, said the vehicle was forcibly taken by seven unidentified armed men at the boundary of Camp 3 and Camp 2, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet after they held up Palinpin and his companion who were on board the Hyundai Elantra.
The robbers carted away more than P30,000 in cash and personal belongings of victims, using the Hyundai Elantra as their getaway vehicle.
Operatives of Tuba Municipal Station and PHPT Zambales are conducting investigation on the identity of suspects.
