CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A second-hand car dealer died instantly in front of his store after three suspects used two pistols to repeatedly shoot him at about 8:55 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Dolores here.

Chief Inspector Romeo Balubal, head of the Dolores police station, identified the victim as Ruel Mallari, 30, who sustained bullet wounds in different parts of his body after he was shot soon after he opened his second-hand car store along the busy Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Dolores.

Based on their investigation, Balubal said as soon as the suspects arrived on board a white Mitsubishi FB van, three of the suspects alighted and approached the victim.

“Two of the three had a .45 calibre pistol each, and both of them used their arms in shooting the victim,” Balubal said.

He said 11 empty shells and two slugs from. 45 calibre pistol were found in the crime scene. As of late yesterday, no witness had surfaced to give any information on the plate markings of the vehicle used by the suspects.

Balubal noted that the suspects did not wear anything to conceal their faces. They sped towards the area of SM and Robinson’s malls after the shooting. He said the vehicle used might have been carnapped.

“We still don’t have any clue on the suspects but police forces in their escape route were alerted. We expect to find the suspects’ vehicle abandoned somewhere,” he said.

This city hogged headlines last June when police raids revealed at least three hideouts of the Dominguez carnapping syndicate in this city.

Brothers Roger and Raymond Dominguez who headed the syndicate were earlier arrested after they were linked to the murder of second hand car dealers Venson Evangelista and Emerson Lozano. The victims’ burnt bodies were recovered in various areas in Central Luzon.
