Guagua, Pampanga – The Phil Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) – CL Chapter, in collaboration with the Provincial Government, led a community service initiative aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare support to 550 pregnant women in the province.
The event took place at Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH) where a range of essential medical services were offered to support the healthy pregnancy journey of the expectant mothers.
Services given included free prenatal and gynecologic check-ups, pap smears, ultrasounds, and gynecological surgeries, free medicines and milk.
A series of expert-led lectures focusing on proper self-care and maternal-fetal health were also given to all participants to combat concerning trends and promote maternal and child health within the community.
Data from (POGS) – CL Chapter revealed that maternal mortality rate exceeds 55% in pregnancy-related cases across Region 3.
