CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Our own little way of reciprocating for all their toils and sacrifices for the well-being of their families, for the good of the country.”

Gov. Lilia G. Pineda turned emotional at a recent courtesy call on her by Labor Undersecretary Renato Ebarle, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) administrator Hans Leo Cacdac and regional director Zenaida Angara-Campita.

Pineda said the provincial government is planning to donate a parcel of land for the establishment of a diagnostic center for overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in the Central Luzon region, a first of its kind in the whole Philippines.

This, in the wake of reports that the OWWA has allotted P300 million for such center which will prioritize the wellness of OFWs, “since the working environment outside the country is much different.”

The center will provide regular diagnosis and monitoring of health concerns and medical problems of the OFWs. Ebarle and Cacdac expressed their profuse thanks to the governor and the provincial government for their “deep and abiding concern” for the OFWs not only in Pampanga but throughout Central Luzon.
