Capitol gets P7-M performance ‘bonus’

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A bonus for doing the job of governanceall too well.

    That, in effect, is the P7-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) the Department of the Interior and Local Government awarded the provincial governmentof Pampanga Monday.

    Receiving the check from DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Fabia, an elated Gov. Lilia G. Pineda thanked the DILG for the recognition of “the efforts of everyone in the provincial government to dohis best in serving the Kapampangan.”

    Pineda noted that PCF “spelled the highest ideals of good governance,” as it is awarded only to local government units having achieved the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping in the advocacy for transparent and good financial management which in turn serves as one of six aspects of theSeal of Good Local Governance.

    The PCF is an incentive program by the DILG in the form of financial subsidy awarded to provinces, cities andmunicipalities amountingto P7 million, P3 million and P1 million, correspondingly.

    Pineda said she has earmarked the P7-million PCF for the construction and site development of a two-storey, six-classroom building in Calangain Elementary School in Lubao town.
