CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda has committed financial backing from the Capitol for the finalization and full operations of the Santungan ning Kulturang Kapampangan in Barangay Sto. Niño here.

The governor made the commitment in talks on Monday, May 27, with Engr. Ferdinand Caylao, president of the Foundation for Lingap Kapampangan, Inc. (FLKI), and Sonia Sotto, a member of FLKI representing Tess Laus, the former president now serving as treasurer.

“Thankful tayo, kasi sabi ko nga, it’s a breakthrough na for us na nag-commit na personally si Gov. Delta na tulungan ang FLKI. Goal naman natin dito is to preserve and enrich the heritage, culture, and history of the Kapampangan race,” enthused Caylao.

He also expressed the need for manpower, specifically for a curator who will be responsible for safeguarding various artifacts and memorabilia currently housed within the museum on a 24/7 basis.

“Priceless ang mga ‘yan, e. Baka manakaw. So kailangan ‘yon, pati na rin ang support sa kuryente, maintenance, at iba pa,” Caylao furthered.

Pineda said the provincial government is open to establishing a collaboration with the FLKI to advance the promotion of the Kapampangan museum.

He is also set to inspect the said landmark with building experts to further identify additional improvements in landscape and building design, aimed at attracting more tourists once the museum becomes fully operational.
